The patient is first shaved in a sterile room and then taken to another sterile room where the operation takes place. The patient wears a sterile gown and lies on the operation table in the prone position. The head region is disinfected for sedation. Upon special request, the patient can choose the COMFORT anesthesia option which consists of administering sedatives without using a needle but pressurized medication. As the process is a sedated procedure, the patient does not feel any pain. He can listen to to music or watch TV.

If desired the patient can take a break during the process and have something to eat.

The grafting is done from the nape of the neck and the collected grafts are kept in a cold sterile solution. The collection process may take up to 3 to 4 hours.Then the channels where the grafts will be planted are opened and the transplantation is performed. This process takes about another 1 to 2 hours.

It is very critical the way the graifts are implanted in order to obtain a very natural look. The hair follicles must be implanted with an appropriate angle.
