In DHI method hair follicles are taken from the donor area by a follicular extraction unit and are placed into the Choi pen with the help of a special forceps and are ready for transfer. Micro cuts are done on the needy area and holes are created and the follicles are placed into these holes. These two steps are done at the same time in the DHI method. While Choi pen’s tip is doing the micro-cuts, follicles are transferred.
What differentiates the DHI method from other methods is that creating the holes and transplanting the follicles are done at the same time whereas, in other methods, hair follicles are not directly transferred to the needy area.
Generally in DHI method, up to 4000 grafts are transferred in one session. If more grafts are needed additional sessions are performed.
The biggest advantage of DHI is that there is no need to shave the hair. Hair follicles are taken by the Follicular Unit Extraction method between the hair and they are transferred to the needy area without cutting the hair. People are attracted because of that advantage. People can get back to their routine lives faster.
